Top Marques Monaco 2014

Top Marques Monaco 2014 broke all previous records when it welcomed more visitors than ever to the luxury supercar show this Easter
• Attendance figures are believed to have reached 36,000 over the four days, with ticket sales increasing by more than 50 per cent.
• Other records to have been smashed include the number of sales carried out during the supercar show, which this year fell over the historically busy Easter weekend.

• The number of confirmed sales are currently not available, but early feedback suggests that Top Marques was hugely successful for a record-number of manufacturers.

• More test drives than ever were also carried out at the show on a privatized section of the F1 Grand Prix circuit.

• This year’s test drives included the Lamborghini Aventador Hamann, the Ferrari! 458 Italia and Mando Footloose, the world’s first ever e-bike which was hugely well-received at the show.
Supercar enthusiasts from all four corners of the globe descended on Monaco to attend the show, billed the world’s most exclusive car show in the world, which took place from 17 to 20 April.

Organized in association with leading European private financiers the Edmond de Rothschild group, Top Marques was inaugurated by H.S.H Prince Albert II of Monaco who returned to Top Marques for a second visit that same day to find out more about certain products, Also a guest of honour at the inauguration was Kenzo Takada, founder of the designer fashion label Kenzo.

Designer Alain Mobberley said: “The feedback on the car has been amazing. Everyone is unanimous that it is the best car of the show for its simplicity and its elegance.

“We have met an excellent clientele and it couldn’t have been any better for us. We chose Top Marques to launch our car as it is a wholly appropriate show for a vehicle of this standing.”

He added that he would “conservatively estimate” that at least 20 sales of the car, with a retail price of £495,000 (plus tax) would follow the show.

Other manufacturers to have initiated multiple sales at Top Marques include Lexus, Hamann, Tesla and Klassen, which was showcasing its luxury vans complete with 32” 3D LED TV, in-built PlayStation and conference video equipment.

Also to receive rave reviews at Top Marques was the Viking luxury motorbike designed by Henrik Fisker and launched by Danish manufacturers Lauge Jense! n. A spokesperson for the manufacturer said that they had received 17 confirmed orders for its product and a further dozen other potential sales.

But it wasn’t just on the supercar floor that records were broken. Luxury watchmaker Franck Muller is also said to have sold a number of important timepieces whilst antique dealers La Tibétaine, specialized in rare ethnic objects, sold a Buddha with a price tag of €50,000.
