Visiting Monsanto Factory in Bulacan

Part of this blog goals was to explore great travel such as wineries, farms, factories and discover the beauty of technology. But last June 29, I was at Monsanto Corn Seed Factory in Pulilan, Bulacan & find out interesting things about GMO and BT or Bio Technology. One of the solution for world hunger, farm technology and poverty.

Many farmers already proved sustainable agriculture that DEKALB  corn seed resulted to a high yield production. One good example is the true story of  Mrs Consolation Reyes of Brgy Sadsalan, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat. Who built good house out of farming. Who benefited from the blessings of consistent good harvest. Soon after fellow neighbor and farmer in town also uses biotech dekalb seed.

Charina Ocampo Corporate Engagement Lead of Monsanto Philippines, Inc showed us the video of farmers testimonials On how hybrid seed increased local farmers production and helped their lives past years.

I toured around the facilities and see how they manufactured corn. From raw to repacking to ensure its quality. From my point of perspective Biotech is helping a lot of farmers. When It comes to harvest even quality produce of crops. This help a lot of farmers as well in foreign countries.

To prove that the company is committed to improves the lives of the farmers (Bayan-Anihan). The 1st Monsanto funded farm was opened in Brgy Namnama in Tumauini, Isabela. Each family were given 10 square meter of garden plot. That can yeild 10kgs of vegetables per month providing 30 meals per family.
Charina said “After 30 years of research and 18 years of commercial biotech crops, and with more than 1,000 independent studies on GMO safety, there has not been a single documented case of food safety or health issues associated with biotech crops.

Monsanto remains transparent and answers queries from the public so that they can make reasonable and helpful decisions. We are proud to provide products that contribute to high-quality crops, a safe food supply and a better life for farmers worldwide.”

After the tour I found out that most of the food that we eat at GM foods. And Monsanto as one of the largest F500 seed company that offer 5% of the worlds market share. Also happy Monsanto employees valued family they have lots of programs and they are inviting people to join their company.

UN, WHO, American Medical Association as well as European food safety authority determined for more than 18 years that GMO or "Genetically Modified Organisms" are safe (since 1996). Scientist confirmed that billions of of animals and millions of people have consumed GMO food without any single food safety incident.
